Apple has unveiled plans to invest more than $500 billion in the United States over the next four years. This ambitious initiative includes the creation of 20,000 new jobs and the establishment of a factory in Houston, Texas.

The tech giant anticipates that the majority of these positions will be in research and development, software, and artificial intelligence (AI). This investment underscores Apple’s commitment to enhancing its operations and workforce in the U.S.

Set to open in 2026, the factory will span over 250,000 square feet and will mark a shift in production, as these servers were previously assembled overseas.

Apple is set to enhance its data center capacity across several states, including North Carolina, Iowa, Oregon, Arizona, and Nevada.

In addition, Apple plans to double its U.S. Advanced Manufacturing Fund from $5 billion to $10 billion. This fund is designed to foster world-class innovation and high-skilled manufacturing jobs nationwide. Key initiatives include supporting the new TSMC manufacturing facility in Arizona, which will produce Apple silicon chips.

Over the next four years, Apple will hire more than 20,000 new employees, marking an increase of several thousand from its earlier commitment. These roles will focus on research and development, silicon engineering, software development, and artificial intelligence.

Furthermore, Apple is launching a new Apple Manufacturing Academy in Detroit. This initiative will bring together experts from Apple and leading universities to assist small and medium-sized businesses in implementing AI and smart manufacturing techniques within their supply chains. The academy will offer both in-person and online courses, providing valuable resources for companies looking to innovate.
